The Cognition of Depression and Anxiety (CODA) Laboratory uses psychophysiological methods to examine abnormalities in cognitive processes associated with affective disorders In particular, the lab uses event-related potentials (ERPs) to explore how anxiety disorders and depression are associated with attentional bias and cognitive control. Please review our aims for specific details regarding the lab’s most recent research.
The CODA lab seeks to increase diversity in neuroscience and psychology by training students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented. We strive toward a lab culture in which everyone feels valued and included. We see our varied identities, backgrounds, and experiences as strengths that can foster new approaches to scientific challenges. We value taking part in self-education and group conversation so that we can act in ways that foster justice at a relational and systemic level.
